MAC

   Mid-America Center
Multi-purpose facility
Interior arena doors

A lways on the look-out for interesting visuals, I took a walk around the Mid-America Conference center to see what there was to see. Except for the PPA regional meeting, the place was empty of activity and many portals were locked so access was limited. As usual, however, I found some motivating imaging opportunities which made my efforts worthwhile. This work qualifies as another in my series of “Found Mondrian's”, intended to investigate a colorful geometric grid both kinetic and serene. I like the scale of the composition as revealed when the abstraction resolves and many doors are recognized.

After I had returned home, while reviewing some of the literature gathered on the trip, I discovered that cameras with professional lenses and flash attachments are prohibited from the Mid-America Center. Since I don't really know what constitutes a “profession lens”, I sure hope I wasn't using one.

“The colored planes, as much by position and dimension as by the greater value given to color, plastically express only relationships and not forms.” - Piet Mondrian
