Florescence

   Of blossoms
Budding and unfolding
Time and process

O ver the winter I acquired several great old manual focus macro lenses which are anxious for action. Now that the world is demonstratively responding to profuse seasonal change, blossoms are again abundantly available. I enjoy making images of flowers and attempting to go beyond the cliché to produce something interesting. You can anticipate more floral close-ups over the next month. This is a shot of a single flower from a cherry tree which is fully loaded. Due to a late freeze last spring, this tree bore no fruit during the previous cycle. Looks like this year will be a bumper crop.

“Break open a cherry tree and there are no flowers, but the spring breeze brings forth myriad blossoms.” - Ikkyu Sojun
