Exercise in Nostalgia

   Subtype archetypal
Western film hero
Singing cowboy

A round the urban parking lot, an original cowboy icon silently sings of life on the trail with all the challengers, hardships and dangers encountered while traversing the concrete canyons. Another facet of the eclectic postmodern fabric of Denver, this giant mural seems to be universally ignored by the indigenous peoples as they pursue their daily activities. Perhaps the cowboy myth is losing currency even in the American west. Oh well, at its present fade rate, this particular representation will be gone in a few years anyway.

“When my time comes, just skin me and put me up there on Trigger, just as though nothing had ever changed.” - Roy Rogers
