titched panoramic photography is a technique I have periodically explored. Due to the stimulus of a colleague, I am in the midst of another cycle. To fully engage requires some specialized hardware and software. The hardware enables precise camera positioning allowing multiple captures to cover the desired area with minimal distortion. The software involves efficient image processing to assemble the resulting captures with geometric and tonality adjustments.
This image was made from four captures with a Sigma 12-24mm lens and assembled in Photoshop using graduated layer masks.
