M y interest in art goes beyond a mere curiosity of culture and societal issues to embrace an investigation of the nature of existence. This is exercised at the boundary of experience as the external is observed and processed intellectually. The intellect is informed by emotions and the intuitive both tempered by learning. Of course much of what is learned is a cultural product.

My approach is heuristic, involving discovery by experimental trial-and-error methods employing feedback evaluation to improve performance. Every human participates in a large but finite society comprised of beliefs, values, and behavior patterns. Superior art transcends these limits to explore the essence of reality.

“If we regard our culture with a certain amount of intellectual curiosity, we shall be rewarded, because there is no age in which we can live so complexly as in our own.” - Edward F. Rothschild
