n a beautiful cold Saturday morning, three photographer allies and I explored the 8,616-acre Konza Prairie preserve near Manhattan, Kansas. Natural grasslands comprise one of the original basic biome types but are now mostly extinct in North America. Here is the first of a series of new images captured during the excellent visit to the remnants of a once vast ecosystem. Surprisingly I have really developed an appreciation for Kansas.
