e interrupt this photo stream to bring you an image just captured with my new Sigma 12-24mm zoom lens, the widest lens currently available for a full frame sensor. The upper reaches of Lake Cena never before looked so good. I am very excited by this lens and can already ascertain it will become a frequently used tool in my stable of optical performers. After just a short time shooting at 12mm, 28mm now seems like a telephoto.

I've always wondered what the shortest focal distance would be for the 5d before the image is to small to fit on the sensor. Did you apply any type of lens correction in PS? Beautiful image by the way.

Thanks for the comment. I applied no lens correction, but did do three raw conversions and combined the results as an HDR tone mapped image. I guess that when using any focal length lens there is always unresolved detail. Even with extreme macro photography we are not seeing the electrons orbiting the nucleus of atoms.
