Honkers

   Flying geese
Make much seemingly
Unnecessary noise

M ost people around town consider the Canadian Geese that winter at Lions Lake to be a nuisance. Congregating in large unruly gangs, they are both untidy and noisy. They also take over the lake shore and you have to avoid eye contact and seriously veer around them or risk attack. Although I am aware of their downside, I do enjoy watching them during flight maneuvers. The low-level flybys and assault landings are my favorite.
