A rriving at the Konza Prairie Biological Station around 7 am, it was just beginning to get light. This is one of the first shots that I made only about a hundred years from the trail head. I initially felt that a wide view would best express the feeling of the place, so I used my old Spiratone 18mm lens which I have owned for 30 years. In the twilight at a temperature of 16 degrees, the manual dexterity required to change lenses and set-up equipment like the tripod and shutter release cable can pose a challenge. I like the photographic rendering potential available at twilight using long exposures.
