ere is another zoom capture using my Kiron 28-85mm variable focus lens. Lens designs such as these are called varifocal lenses because as the focal length is changed the position of the focal plane also moves. This requires a readjustment of the focus after each zoom change. Of course when you are changing the focal length during the capture, refocusing can only be approximate. That's part of the effect.
