Sharp

   Accuracy of perception
Distinct form and detail
Rationally penetrating

J ust after most of the leaves have fallen, but before they have suffered the effects of weathering, they randomly accumulate on the ground in wonderful visual arrangements based on the vagaries of gravity and wind. Still colorful and retaining distinctive shapes and textures, they make good close-up compositional studies. Because of their inherent detail and relative flatness of field, they also are a good test for photographic lenses. On this handheld shot I used a 28mm Kiron built Vivitar lens shot wide open at f2.5. The edge to edge sharpness is remarkable.

“Very few people have 20/20 vision and the lens of a camera is always resolving action more finely than we can see it.” - Lyle Wachovsky
