osts of images from last summer's trip to New Mexico are now slowing to a trickle, but their appearance helps to keep the memory alive. Some landscapes are vast and magnificent, while others are small scale vignettes. Although this scene falls into the second category, it is nonetheless visually arresting. Close immediacy to a gently rising hill provides a nicely contained textural study in infrared layers. I am beginning to get the urge for another photographic road trip, perhaps during the pending semester break.
