tepping off my porch I composed this capture by placing the rising sun behind the Pin Oak tree-trunk. Even though conceptually I know that images are everywhere, it still surprises me when I find such a first-rate new one so close to home. Part of the recognition of something original in the familiar routine results from an expanded awareness of possibilities. Awareness expansion can be actively pursed as a daily quest. Of course a continuing exploration of optics and how light refracts also contributes to the progression from seeing to looking – mere sensation evolving into perceptual understanding.
