O ften cultural characteristics of civilizations are recognized through their distinctive architectural achievements. Here is an architectural detail shot featuring a bold graphic treatment of circular arcs which emphasizes the relationships among repeating elements. Usually I am wary of having large areas in my images devoid of detail. But all photographic rules can, however, be occasionally violated with effective results. In this case, I also used this image for the back cover of my recently published book, “Technology Arts,” and placed reversed informational text in the girder blackness.
