Widen the Scope

South edge of Goodland
Processing plant consequence

W hile photographing the giant sunflower painting in Goodland as the sun descended, this nearby agribusiness complex caught my eye. Perhaps this is the famed sunflower processing plant, which makes sunflower oil and sunflower meal from the sunflower seeds grown by local farmers. I liked the silhouetted shapes against the color intense sky gradation. Inherently a study of negative and positive space, reduction of detail to broad featureless shapes occasionally is an effective graphic enunciation.

“The dark-veiled silhouette that solitary form patrolling without visible strain or vainglory a demented dreamland of fearful potential.” - Kathryn Hulme
