M odifying old lenses to work with my digital SLR opens up an endless venture of creative possibilities. Currently I am in an exploratory period with a recently acquired bevy of optics, each possessing unique characteristics. This diptych was made shooting with a Vivitar 28mm f2.8 for the first time. Surprisingly sharp, it was dirt cheap and small enough to be easily slipped into a camera bag and used on a trip. I highly value versatile mobility as most of my photography involves long hikes.

“Abstract art isn't simply a lack of realism. It's rather a heightened depiction of what the subject really is.” - Curtis Verdun
