Prairie Cemetery

   Windswept isolation
Pioneers reach an end
Out in the center

W e found St. Anthony Cemetery on the east side of highway 177 while traveling south from Council Grove to Strong City during a Kansas exploratory jaunt. It is small and well maintained but sits alone with no other buildings or structures nearby. It seems to be a good location to store bones and memorialize the past.

“He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery.” - Harold Wilson
