he atmosphere and experience of the carnival midway is completely different at night. The area seems to shrink and the bright gaudy lights tend to cover up some of the shabby seedy edges. There is more tension in the air, noise levels increase, and a sense of urgency prevails. Capturing ambient and quickly shifting illumination with long exposures, my tripod acts like an obstacle which splits the constantly moving crowd current into two streams. Surprisingly they pay little to no attention to my photographic activities.
