nother year and another Missouri State Fair. This time around I approached my subject with a different arsenal of equipment, some of which I didn't own last year. Arriving just as the grounds opened on Sunday morning, the carnival midway was empty of people and ripe for imaging. I started out using my zone plate, cranking the ISO up to 1600 and employing my carbon fiber monopod. This was an effective lensless combination, allowing for relatively fast and stable exposures, and was particularly well suited to the bright colors and shapes of the transitory amusement park.
