ecently I acquired a new pair of sunglasses. They block 100% of the ultra violet radiation and 100% of the infrared radiation. In addition, they are dark amber and only transmit 2% of the ambient light. When I put them on, my visual system quickly adapts and the world becomes magical. Colors are intense, contrast is reduced, and objects are distinct in high definition. I have been trying to duplicate the effect photographically, and so far this image is as close as I have gotten. Made on my morning walk to work, the sun was low and at my back. The jumble of poles, stops lights, wires, and junction box suddenly fell into an organized arrangement against the sky.
