Geographic Center | Surrounding Equilibrium Contemplation |

ocated a little northwest of Lebanon, Kansas is the alleged geographical center of the lower 48 states. This is a lonely isolated spot surrounded by pastures and farmland with a small deserted motel close by. A stone podium, a picnic table, and a miniscule hut identified as the “Chapel at the Center” complete the scene. This image captures the mood and ambiance of the place - to be at the center and yet to be nowhere. We discovered that if you position yourself precisely to balance the continental drift forces your lips go numb.
“In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it.” - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
