ions Lake used to be called Water Company Lake before it was purchased in 1962 by the Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department. The 30-acre park is located between Hale Lake Road and the Spring Ridge housing development, and is part of my regular morning running route. Amenities include a covered shelter, picnic tables, a fishing pier, and a youth ball field. The lake is also a gathering site for migrating waterfowl, and the permanent home to a flock of aggressive domestic geese.
