Clay Tile Silo

   Only thing left
On the flood plain between
New Franklin and Rocheport

A fter an hour and twenty minute drive, I arrived in Boonville at 6:30 am in the cool damp of the morning. I jumped on my bike and began pedaling toward Rocheport for a 7:30 am rendezvous with my friend Tom, before continuing on to Hartsburg. The distance being 13.5 miles, I needed to average about 14 miles an hour to get there on time. My legs seemed stiff and unsure as I climbed the Boonville Bridge over the Missouri River, but things began to smooth out around New Franklin and I was up to speed. As the sum began to climb, the low-lying fog began to burn-off, and the promise of a great day of Katy Trail riding beckoned. As I approached this old abandoned silo, the light was so gorgeous I had to stop and record the scene.
