T he Lamine River ("luh-MEEN") is a 70 mi long tributary in a rural watershed flowing generally northwardly in West Central Missouri. It originates at the confluence of Flat Creek and Richland Creek, and travels through Cooper and Pettis Counties. In northwestern Cooper County the Lamine connects with the Blackwater River and then flows into the Missouri River 6 mi west of Boonville. This image was shot just east of Clifton City from the historic Katy Trail Bridge constructed in 1910 by the King Bridge Company of Cleveland, Ohio.

“What makes a river so restful to people is that it doesn't have any doubt - it is sure to get where it is going, and it doesn't want to go anywhere else.” - Hal Boyle
