imple geometric shapes are dominated by two areas of vibrant color in this rather minimalist high-key image. High-key lighting is usually diffuse and shadow-less and thus the resulting dark areas are caused solely by radiation absorption. On initial viewing the picture space is flattened, and yet a sense of depth promptly becomes apparent. The color subtleties of the wet unpaved road help to balance out the intensity of the blue door and rusted sign.
