erception is the process of selecting, acquiring, organizing, and interpreting sensory input. The stimulus we experience from the external environment is used to create a model of reality. Certain components of the objective world activate a biological response within the functioning limits of physiological sense organs, but our sensations map to provisional percepts. As new information is acquired, our percepts shift - understanding of reality is thus partial and subject to change.
