Irresistible sagacity
Multifarious intention

T his historic sculpture looks like it should be in a museum or antiquarian art gallery. Surprisingly I found it at eye level engraved in the side of an old bank building in the small hamlet of Higginsville, Missouri. On closer examination, the building features many other such elaborately curved faces, all unique and individual. I have visited and photographed this town many times over the last five years, but never before noticed the detailing of this structure. I wonder what else I am missing.
