enerally found adjacent to the highway and distant from city centers, old motels reflect the cultural love affair with automobiles. They historically offered temporary shelter with few amenities while parked next to an individual room. Exteriors adapted regional styles and unique differentiating advertising motifs intended to lure guests. From isolated cottages to completely integrated single buildings, rooms were plain and functional - uncomplicated come and go. Perhaps a new image series has commenced.
