   Future metropolis
Dream interpretation
Interfaces reality

T he concept of images within images has long fascinated me. Here is an interesting example found in downtown Kansas City. The area is undergoing a transformation with numerous large scale construction projects in progress. At several of these sites, idealized artistic renderings of the anticipated look and feel planned for project completion are on display. Juxtaposing a projected future with present actuality is a nice twist making the image experience rewarding and enjoyable to decode. Shot with a meniscus acromat.

“Influences come from everywhere, but when you are actually shooting you work primarily by instinct. But what is instinct? It is a lifetime accumulation of influence: experience, knowledge, seeing and hearing. There is little time for reflection in taking a photograph. All your experiences come to a peak and you work on two levels: conscious and unconscious.” -Arnold Newman
