his Western Auto sign tops the building that once functioned as the corporate headquarters at 2107 Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. Although the company is no longer an operational entity, the sign is still maintained and illuminated nightly remaining an interesting feature of the KC skyline.
Started in 1909 and flourishing by mid-century, Western Auto surrendered to corporate takeover in the early 21st Century. In its heyday, Western Auto sold a wide range of products including automobile parts, clothing, vitamins, fishing and hunting gear, radios, and the famous Western Flyer bikes.
