oving beyond the cliché in photographing sunsets is a challenge. Here is such an image that creates an atmospheric emotional response both mysterious and disquieting. Some of my colleagues on review consider it more about a potential cataclysmic destructive event rather than the peaceful end to other day. Although not my intent on capture, I will accept all interpretations. The audience is half the equation.
“A photograph has always been a lie. We can not freeze time, we are not 2 dimensional, we are not the size of an 8 x 10 glossy, we are not composed in geometric patterns, but we are real. Photos have power because of this illusion. Using the power and exploring it as communication of the collective sub-conscience can be fun too.” -
