xtracting interesting geometrical arrangements from a chaotic environment remains an engaging activity. By selection and framing many man-made edifices can be transformed into constructivist art - combining a machine aesthetic with harmonizing components celebrating technology. Historically constructivist artists did not believe in abstract ideas, rather they tried to link art with concrete and tangible ideas. I am not sure how a tangible idea differs from any other idea. It seems to me that all ideas are at their core abstract, being thoughts apart from physical existence, a product of mental activity. Good imaging is always cerebral.
“The use of the term "art medium" is, to say the least, misleading, for it is the artist that creates a work of art not the medium. It is the artist in photography that gives form to content by a distillation of ideas, thought, experience, insight and understanding.” - Edward Steichen
