   Soft forceful
Dreamy flames
Repair sector

T he flames rendered on the door to this muffler repair shop interest me. I wonder what message the proprietor hopes to convey to his clientele. Aggressive fire belching exhaust systems? Devil worship? Danger Will Robinson? Regardless of intent, the dream lens adds a layer of incongruity to the scene.
A nice aspect of the optical experiments that I have recently been pursuing is the expansion of potential subject matter. Objects that ordinarily might be unsuitable using conventional lenses become amenable to different focusing systems. It is a little surprising that it has taken me so long to discover lens modification possibilities.

“I use photography as a point of departure. Like Frederick Sommer, I prefer to view a photograph as "a thing seen" in its own right, rather than considering it as a document of "a thing seen." This is a disengagement from viewing a photograph for its content alone. An image has its own reason for being, perhaps possessing its own kind of intelligence.” - Jonathan Bailey
