N aturally occurring processes possess a specific track toward equilibrium. This is one of the definitions of the word entropy, which I assigned to my Materials and Processes class as last week's shooting theme. It is a concept that is intriguing to illustrate, with examples occurring around us all the time. As a gauge of the disorder of any system, entropy is often generalized to refer to an inevitable collapse or disorganization.
