any times on journeys south I have passed by this odd looking store. It is located about halfway between Warrensburg and Clinton, isolated in the middle of nowhereville. The large quaint painted scenes that adorn the front remind me of traditional American folk art. One day curiosity inspired a stop to examine the place closely. It turned out to be an abundantly stocked emporium dedicated to the capture and killing of mammals, fish and fowl, complete with all manner of associated accoutrements. Exorbitant prices for everything ranging from beef jerky to clothing questioned the viability of the marketing strategy given the out-of-the-way location. According to The Oxford English Dictionary, the word "snapshot" was originally a hunting term.
“I am a passionate lover of the snapshot, because of all photographic images, it comes closest to the truth ... the snapshooter['s] pictures have an apparent disorder and imperfection which is exactly their appeal and their style.” - Lisette Model
