y original “Through the Viewfinder” makeshift lens contraption that was constructed with soda cans fell apart. But in the meantime, I have been busy fabricating several new versions of more refined design. This image was made with one of the new ones which is more substantial and features a focusing helix. This adaptation has no aperture control, so depth of field is very shallow. I am fond of the quality of the out-of focus-areas and the other-worldly feel this set of optics imparts to an image.
“Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.” - Peter Adams
