I n the early 1900's, the concrete grain elevator represented the culmination of fifty years of elevator design development. For some reason, ever since my first arrival in Warrensburg, I have found this abandoned example at the end of Pine Street to be an interesting structure. Unfortunately it has no recorded history that I can find. Crucial industries and human activities of the past can evolve into empty ignored shells.

“The Chinese have a theory that you pass through boredom into fascination and I think it's true. I would never choose a subject for what it means to me or what I think about it. You've just got to choose a subject - and what you feel about it, what it means, begins to unfold if you just plain choose a subject and do it enough.” -Diane Arbus
