s time advances, night follows day, and day follows night - a predictable cycle without beginning, without end and without fissures. When the sun is poised just below the horizon, diffused light from the sky is refracted by the earth's atmosphere. A juncture of contrasting energy fields, the fuzzy dividing line between day and night is called the terminator. On the surface of the spinning Earth, the sun is simultaneously rising at places along the terminator and setting at different places along the terminator.
