G eometric abstract art has the capacity to convey emotions and ideas without dependence upon or reference to recognizable objective forms already existent in reality. Similar ideas and feeling can also be evoked by careful rendering of objects and scenes that do exist in reality. Of course reality is elastic and elusive. There is no universally accepted definition of existence.

“A thing is not what you say it is or what you photograph it to be or what you paint it to be or what you sculpt it to be. Words, photographs, paintings, and sculptures are symbols of what you see, think, and feel things to be, but they are not the things themselves.” - Wynn Bullock
