eniscus achromat. I have fabricated a new/old lens for my Canon 5D. I took a Kodak Number 1 Folding Pocket Camera made in the 1920's, extracted the optic and inserted it into a focusing helical with an EOS mount. The result is a wonderful soft focus lens which renders an imaginative interpretation of reality. It is simultaneously detailed and vague, with rich saturated color and a glowing ethereal light. This is the closest I have ever come to directly photographing a dream. To express extreme satisfaction with this combination of state-of-the-art digital technology and early photographic equipment is an understatement.
