I n my backyard, under a line of ancient lilac bushes, is a grouping of low-lying plants. Some of these were planted by prior property owners and others are indigenous interlopers. Every year this undergrowth ebbs and flows in response to climatic conditions, with the mix of coverage always changing. It gives me something to look at and think about on each trip to my automobile parked in the driveway.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” - Elliott Erwitt
