CoOp

   Pilot Grove
Cooperative Elevator
Master Mix Feeds

S tark and spare against an intense June sky, the Pilot Grove CoOp office is situated directly adjacent to the Katy Tail. The elevator is still in operation, but can't be as active as when the railroad was still running.

Pilot Grove is a city with a population of approximately 735 in Cooper County: latitude of 38.874N, longitude of -92.911W. It is believed Pilot Grove was settled about the 1820’s but the exact date is unknown. The community was named for an ancient grove of hickory trees located on a high prairie in the immediate vicinity used as a landmark by early area travelers.
