Winter Vestige | Beaten down By ice and snow Restitution imminent |

ast years plants that have weathered the icy grip of old man winter are springing back to life everywhere I look. During the first several weeks of April, there is a rapid progression of plant growth responding to warmer temperatures and longer spans of daylight. The initiation of this growth is staged for different species, some starting sooner and some later.
Today's image was made of a plant species that has not yet commenced its seasonal growth phase. I like the natural patterns, colors and textures of the bleached and worn leaf blades, resulting in an abstract study of innate life forces at work - a rhapsody in brown.
“Some speak of a return to nature. I wonder where they could have been.” - Frederick Sommer
