aving been involved in digital image editing and publishing software for over twenty years, drop shadows are an effect I have invoked ad infinitum. I always find if interesting, therefore, when I find a naturally occurring drop shadow, especially when it appears as if it could be computer generated. It today's image, the drop shadow is the dominate design element, created by painted letters on a store front window found in Knob Noster. I particularly like the shadows cast by the starburst shapes in the center.
This has got me thinking – I wonder if it is possible to apply drop shadows to plain text using CSS or html, and implement it in Latentsifier! I will research this to see what can be done. It will need to be cross-browser compliant and work with MovableType. If it is possible and I like the way it looks, you will see it here soon.
