Curb Diptych | Shapes of things Before my eyes Where time and tide reside |
I
liked the diptych from two days ago, so I decided to make more. There is something satisfying about the relationship and dialog between the two images that adds to the intellectual challenge. In this case, these images were captured far apart both geographically and temporally, yet they fit nicely together.
The verse accompany this image is paraphrased from the lyrics of a song by the Yardbirds, the legendary band from the sixties. When I assembled the image, the song popped into my head. An odd association maybe, but it seems to makes sense to me.
“The ear tends to be lazy, craves the familiar and is shocked by the unexpected; the eye, on the other hand, tends to be impatient, craves the novel and is bored by repetition.” - W. H. Auden
