his unusual appearing structural appendage was spotted from a distance away, and I knew I wanted to get a closer look. It is stuck on the side of one of the old warehouses in the West Bottoms of Kansas City. Turns out the warehouse was converted into a part-time haunted house known as “The Beast”. Apparently the idea is for people to jump into this tube on an upper floor, slide down to the bottom in a spiral and simultaneously be ejected from the building. This doesn't seem to me to be a potentially desirable experience.

The werewolf forest is a full 1/4 acre in size, the storm scene's thunder and lighting will make your hair stand on end, the cobblestone streets of Jack the Ripper's London will seduce you, beware the raging wolf! And don't forget the swamp with it's blood thirsty alligators. The exit is a four story slide; it's straight down and blazing fast!
The Beast is open weekends from the end of August through the first part of October, then nightly through October, and will remain open for the first weekend in November.”
