ost-visualization can be as useful as pre-visualization. This has always been true, but is even more powerful as a working method now due to the sophistication enabled by digital image editing. Frequently as I browse through my unprocessed image archives, I come up with ideas for processing that never entered my mind during the capture phase. Today's image is a case in point.
The background is an image that I decided had rectangular geometric possibilities. So I enlarged the canvas size and experimented with symmetrical mirroring. I then searched for another image that would work well with the resulting design, and placed it centered. This final combination is rather satisfying at this juncture, and provides direction for yet another series of future images.
Of course now when I am out capturing new images, I can pre-visualize how they will relate to this treatment and the cycle is unified.
