W arrensburg has some nice old buildings in the central business area. As I photographed this scene, I was attracted by the intense light reflected off the pale building on the right. The structure had a granular specular quality to it which scintillated as my viewpoint changed. The shapes of the two buildings as they relate to each other and to the blue sky also held interest. Some shots are inherently simple.
The stylistic features on the brick building on the left are a lost art form. New buildings never seem to be erected with as much craftsmanship or attention to detail as vintage construction. Wise municipal governance recognizes the value of their historical heritage and takes action to preserve and exploit these resources. Of course, as governments are representatives of their populations, the community as a whole must be enlightened in these matters. Some communities are smarter than others.
