Quadrotype

   Rotational pattern
Manifold axes
Verisimilitude cloaked

A s promised, here is a Quadrotype made from yesterday's image. The procedure to make this design is as follows:

1) Scale the image in one direction to make a square
2) Copy this image 16 times into separate layers
3) Enlarge the canvas size 400% in both dimensions
4) Move the 16 images to evenly fill the expanded canvas
5) Rotated the individual images around each of the four corners to create four separate pattern designs in each quadrant

The resulting patterns are fluid, organic and geometric. The original image gets lost in the new visual organization. Some original source images create more effective patterns than others. Of course the experience of making Quadrotypes will positively affect the capture of images targeted for the process. Patterns share knowledge about their design.

“The conclusion of design flows naturally from the data; we should not shrink from it; we should embrace it and build on it.” - Michael Behe
