Net

   Purposely placed
To retain and maintain
Ultimately inadequate

T he man-made is always intruding on the natural. In the long term, the natural will prevail.

I have no idea who deployed this net, or for what alleged purpose, but it has not wintered well. Most of it is now submerged, many areas riddled with tear holes. But under certain conditions, it offers image-making potential. The pattern and its echo, coupled with the orange color, all harmonize well with the sky reflection - captured as twilight settled in over Pertle Springs.

“What I feel is that the picture-taking process, anyway a greater part of it, is an intuitive thing. You can't go out and logically plan a picture, but when you come back, reason then takes over and verifies or rejects whatever you've done. So that's why I say that reason and intuition are not in conflict--they strengthen each other.” - Wynn Bullock
